Personality:
Aphrodite is love itself; she is very nice and sweet to the ones around her. Therefore she loves being around people at once, and dislikes long stretches of being alone. She loves her family and is unselfish with them, sharing anything she has if they need it. Aphrodite is strong willed, determined and very loving. She is not faithful to men for she loves being loved, touched, and adored. When angered her temper can be a very quick explosion then it subsides just as quickly as it started. Aphrodite can be vain and becomes jealous when men do not give her their full attention. Also when other women try to take what she views as hers, she will become even more jealous and takes her vengeance on whoever offends her. She also has no qualms with lying or cheating on or to the lovers she has.
Strengths:
Beautiful, passionate, strong willed, easy to love, smart.
Weaknesses:
Vain, jealous, anger, unfaithful, easily bored.
Likes:
Men in all shapes and sizes, being pampered, walking along a beach in the sunlight, doves, and being with her best friend Antheia.
Dislikes:
Being alone for too long, being left out of events, taking ship rides anywhere (they take too long), and drugged up blood it makes her too calm.
Extras:
Tactile hypnotic suggestion. With a brush of her hand she can easily sway anyone into her bidding. She gives them the thought of something and watches as they go into motion. For the most part she uses this to gain lovers. Even though she is selfish with lovers, she will also use her gift to help others find love. People with very strong will power can ignore her gift, but someone who is either seeking love or has an open mind will fall under her trance easily.
History:
Look beyond the legends. Born in 2000 B.C., a small village on the edge of Greece, by the cliffs that looked out over the sea, Aphrodite was the last born of many sons. Her father praised his luck with having a girl he could sell off later to get income. Her mother loved her and always protected her as did her brothers. As she grew she became more and more loved by the men of the village, and she enjoyed this fact more than anything. As she slowly grew into a teenage woman then into an adult and all of the men in the village wanted to claim her but her father refused every one of them. He told her he would not sell her unless he was given the right price. Aphrodite smiled, knowing her father had grown to love her and wanted to protect her. She would walk down the streets of the village and every man who saw her stayed at her side, and that was when she first saw Hephaestus. He confused her with his look. Even though he was horribly scared he was not all that bad to look at.
Later that day she came home to find that very man in her home, talking to her father. Aphrodite waited in the room she was told to and became nervous. Her feet tapped on the floor, her hands rung the edge of her dress, and she stared at the door leading to where her father was. Finally the door opened and her father walked into the room with her, shutting the door behind him. He told her that she was going to marry Hephaestus and live with him. Her fear took over and she ran from the room in tears. She was found by her cypress tree, leaning against it and looking at over the sea. Hephaestus came to her and promised her everything in the world. He told her he would protect her, keep her safe and love her. All she did was nod and asked how she could have possibly been given the bad luck of a man as imperfect as him for a husband.
He took her from her crying family and led her back to his ‘family’. He explained to Zeus that he could not have left this human behind and loved her. Zeus agreed that she was a stunning beauty and told Hephaestus to be careful with her. Aphrodite married Hephaestus grudgingly, looking at the other men in the room and wondering why she could not have them.
Not long after the wedding Aphrodite was surprised to learn that Hephaestus’ family was the gods of these parts and she was married to one. Though he was still imperfect to her, she wondered if he would make her a god as well. He told her after she questioned him about it, that they were only worshiped as gods but were vampires. She begged him to turn her as well, wanting to be even more beautiful, but he refused. He was afraid to loose her, thinking he would kill her. After Aphrodite continued to beg him he finally went to Zeus and asked him to turn her. Zeus agreed and had Athena turn her, and the three days that followed were the worst of her life.
Once she opened her eyes she jumped up and begged for the pain to be stopped. Hephaestus knew this before hand and had humans brought in for her as soon as she was ready. She lunged at them and fed quickly, happy as the burn subsided. Once she was done she turned to her ‘husband’ and thanked him. Hephaestus was happy now that he could be with his wife without hurting her. After they made love for the first time, Aphrodite knew of a new type of love that made her want it even more.
Never really wanting to leave the protection of Skyros, Aphrodite traveled with someone at all times. As she discovered her power further, she would comfort Hephaestus at night and let him stay home alone with happy thoughts as she would discover what others could for to her.
As she walked the halls of Zeus’ home she noticed how even more than before she was looked on as the definition of beauty itself. One night of boredom, and wanting to be away from Hephaestus, Aphrodite walked to Zeus’ room and they entertained themselves. One thing she began to appreciate despite her husbands appearance, his skills were always something to come back to. Having a now sexual need for the men around her, Aphrodite let them show her love with their bodies.
As time went on she moved away from Olympus, seeking the love of others around her and found a new way to feed. As she would make love to the human men of the villages near to them, she would cut them with her nails and feed off the blood, but would hardly kill them if they were tasty enough for her. Hephaestus would pretend that nothing was happening and ignore it for the most part. Every night though she would bed him, because he was a good lover and her ‘husband’.
One god nearly always had her attention and that was Ares. They would copulate frequently and Hephaestus finally caught them once and brought it Zeus’ attention. Aphrodite after that stopped her love affair with Ares and tried to find a way to stay faithful to Hephaestus, but that never last long.
Traveling with Athena most places, she was one of the most outspoken about her sister not settling down. Though true for herself she was never really ‘settled’, Aphrodite still thought her sister should find a husband. As they went from place to place she sampled many of the men they came across, and only fed on a view of them. Bubo, her companion, always flew high above their heads as they ran or walked together. Aphrodite loved being with other people and felt comfortable with Athena because she was like the men that adored her but without the neediness.
Through the years she focused on control over her power and learned that it often helped her match others up. She loved this and wanted to try with Athena but knew better then to gain the wraith it would create. Being called the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite made sure to help anyone that would pray to her with helpful suggestion. She would feed off the sacrifices and offerings given to her but she loved to hunt and use her body to get what she wanted or needed.
Traveling sometimes far from Skyros she would enjoy her time away from the other gods and her family just to clear her mind (but this never lasted long). On one of these travels she came to her very own village, the one she was born in. as she walked down the streets during the full moon, she looked at all of the houses and realized that her families home was long since torn down. As she walked past the old property she smiled at seeing her cypress tree still standing near the edge of the cliffs. Walking to it she breathed in the warm scent of it and leaned against it quietly. Then she caught another scent on the wind and looked over at the little boy sitting on the verge of the cliff. He had tears streaming down his grimy little cheeks and looked deeply scared. Aphrodite approached him with calm words and a smile. He looked at her and backed away from the edge, running to her and wrapping his arms tightly around her. Her smile turned to shock at the little boy’s sudden affection then she warmed and patted his head. Asking him what was wrong he told her that his family died from the sickness in the village and he was alone.
She took the boy she later named Eros in, raised him as a son. This was a very happy time in her life for she loved the boy with her whole heart. She helped him grow and Athena helped him learn new things from her vast knowledge. Being once again close to her sister, Aphrodite started to wonder what would become of her son Eros. Once he was an adult she told him about the change and asked him if he wanted this as well. Not knowing himself, Eros decided to travel around and see the world, but later came back to his mother with his love Psyche. The three of them later discussed the big decision to contemplate.
Aphrodite loved to learn things like singing and dancing and Athena would play her flute for Aphrodite. She turned to Zeus for that sort of thing and whenever she had a problem she would turn to Poseidon for advice. But it was Hades that she avoided with his serious nature and high level of intensity.
At present she enjoys spending time with as many people as she can. She can be found at most parties and enjoys them. Ever the social butterfly, Aphrodite loves playing with humans. Using her power on them she loves being the match maker and help anyone find a true love.

She loved this feeling, more then anything else in the world. After a man was done pleasing her and her body relaxed, she loved the wave of emotions she could feel coming off of him. As she lay there under him, the human’s warm breath moving her hair around her neck, Aphrodite licked the remaining blood dripping from the cut on his shoulder. This particular human claimed his love for her even before she touched him. Coaxing him away from his wife was not hard at all, for she made the mistake of touching Aphrodite.
The human moved away from her slowly, seemingly not wanting to stop the contact and smiled at her. Laying on his side, staring at her, the human told her of his love once more. This was the love she lived for in her afterlife. She touched his cheek and leaned over kissing him. Whispering in her soft sea breeze voice, she said, “Now why don’t you go and get cleaned up, hmm?” The male smiled and nodded, rolling out of the large bed to walk into the bathroom.
As he walked away from her she rose and stretched her now very relaxed muscles before grabbing the light dress she had wore before and slipping it over her head. She knew in another ten minutes she was due to hunt with Athena and had to leave. Aphrodite ran her fingers through her feather soft curls and made sure her dress was straightened. As the male came in from the bathroom, not wearing anything but what his parents gifted him, he looked worried. Aphrodite walked to him and ran a hand down his chest while smiling up at him. “Go to bed lover, sleep and rest well.” He did what she suggested, her gift making it so. As he laid himself on the bed and slowly fell asleep she glided to him and touched his cheek, whispering softly in his ear, “When you wake up you will feel rested, as if sleeping soundly. Everything that happened here tonight was a dream and the best you had ever had. The Goddess of Love has blessed you.”
Saying the last part with a smirk Aphrodite walked lightly from the room. She headed down the long stairs of the grand hotel and smiled at the night host behind the counter, his whistle one of pure adoration. Walking to the curb she didn’t even have to wait for a taxi, one stopped before her. She told the man her destination and he drove her. She rode with her eyes closed. With her knees crossed and her hands resting on them lightly and hoped Antheia will not be too displeased with her running late.
